    Mac Users:

I am not trying to ignite a Holy War here, however, I am curious about a few
things concerning Linux on Mac as I am considering to switch from a PC to a
MAC for day to day usage (though will still own PCs of course).

    a) What Linux distributions are available for the PowerBook G4?

    b) What Linux distributions are most mature (not favorite for your "pet
peave" reasons), I mean least bugulant, and support greatest quantity of
    hardware.

Why have Linux of MAC OS X is there? Well I do need to configure and compile
kernels for people sometimes, and so thus I must have a Linux box (in my
MAC) to compile kernels with so I can test ".config" files I would give to
    someone
that asked me to generate one. I also am contemplating using BOCHS, QEMU or
Virtual PC to run an X86 version of Linux as well, but am curious about
    PowerPC versions as well.

    c) Can a PowerBook "dual boot" Linux and MAC OS X? If so, can the MAC use
    GRUB?

    Thanks,

    Stuart
