hi.. .
i've searched and have not yet found out how to make x work with debian
stable on my imac, mandrake works but of course xfree is more recent.
so i'm wondering if it can work, if someone has got it to, or if i have
to start by getting a newer version of xfree (in which cas if anyone
knows of a backports.org kinda site that's friendly with macs.. .)
lspci -v gives this :
00:10.0 Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc Rage 128 Pro TR
Subsystem: ATI Technologies Inc Rage 128 Pro TR
Flags: bus master, stepping, 66Mhz, medium devsel, latency 255,
IRQ 48
Memory at 94000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=64M]
I/O ports at 802400 [size=256]
Memory at 90000000 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Expansion ROM at 90020000 [disabled] [size=128K]
Capabilities: [50] AGP version 2.0
Capabilities: [5c] Power Management version 2
and in XF86Config i've tried various things like this
Section "Device"
Identifier "Card0"
Driver "ati"
Card "ATI Rage 128"
BusID "PCI:0:10:0"
EndSection
i've tried, r128 and radeon where there is "ati" and nothing seems to
even slightly work : 0 screens found.. .. any ideas could help.. .
manu. .... .
