    I am very new to Linux but will offer the little that I know. I don't
    think Linux requires a huge drive. A 60-80 gig drive would be loads of
    room to partition for both MacOS and Linux. I think you will need at
    least a small MacOS partition to boot into first and run BootX for
    Linux. Linux can read Mac HFS partitions but not HFS(Macintosh Extended
    ) format.
    More memory is always better.
    You might want to look into Ubuntu. People seem to like it. I don't
    think it will run on the old 603 machine that I am using. There seems
    to be a basic install CD available and then you need to download other
    things you need.
