turning powerbook [99 lombard] cpu fan on
I would like to be able to control the cpu fan
on a powerbook. My yellowdog 3.01 lombard
usually runs around 60 C and I've seen it get
as high as 85 C during a compile. I've never
heard its fan turn on.
I'm told it will come on when necessary and
that the machine will shut itself down on time
if too hot, but . . .that's not enough. I've
heard that when it does come on under linux
that then it will only run at full speed and
then it won't go off again after cooling, but
if so, we can make that a separate problem
for later.
