Yes, I've seen that cause extremely slow ethernet connections, over
and over and over. Rather than 10 MB/s, you'll see 50 KB/s transfer
rates.
But everything does work, so it's not noticed right away ...
I've seen this over and over and over, on many different architectures
of machines. So many times that when somebody says `slow local
network' it's the first thing I check.
