install linux on an external firewire drive

    I have googled for two days now. I cannot find a linux distro that can
    be installed on an external firewire drive without pulling my hair.
    Firewire has been around since the imac 233 revision b, 2000?
    Has powerful as linux is I do not understand why it cannot be
    installed. Why the yaboot cannot be configured?

    Osx can be installed on anything.
