    sorry if this is rather a stupid question...

    was wondering if it was possible (whilst runing in Linux on PPC
    architecture) to link against Mac's OS X altivec libraries. In other
    words, is it at all possible to copy the library files (released by
    Apple) for vectorised DSP and link against those files when creating
    Linux binaries thus being able to "tap" into the obviously optimised (by
    Apple for their own hardware - so presumption is that they will know
    best how to do so) functionality of DSP libraries...
