Google Earth on PS3 and Yellow Dog Linux

Hi
I installed Yellow Dog Linux on my new playstation PS3. Generally,
it's working fine. Unfortunately, I struggling in installing SW not
included in the distribution.
One important example is Google Earth. When I try to install, the log
only shows, that the archive has been extracted and then stops without
an error message... nothing installed...
Does anybody has experience with installing Google Earth on Yellow Dog
Linux and PS3?
