Matthew and James:
Thanks for the clear guidelines and instructions. I followed everything
and I can now access the contents of the hard drive that contains
Windows XP (and all of my Windows files). Thanks!
HOWEVER! To create the "c" folder and mount it, I had to log in as
root. Now, when I go back to my regular user account, it stops me and
says "You do not have the permissions necessary to view the contents of
"c". I logged in again as root and tried everything I could think of:
the Permissions tab (said the c folder was read only and wouldn't let me
check other boxes); chmod and chown in the terminal window (says "failed
to get attributes of `c': No such file or directory"). Nothing seems to
work, and I don't see why it should be giving me a problem.
Any suggestions on how to correct the permissions or ownership so that I
can access it using my regular user account would be most welcome.
