Need new server software: Suse or MS?

My company is running Oracle Collaboration Suite on top of Red Hat
Enterprise 2.1. Red Hat has been awesome. Oracle has been horrible.
No matter how much memory I throw at Oracle, it isn't enough. Today,
it locked everyone out of their files and parts of the plant lost a
whole day of production (in a factory, that's a big deal).
I think I've convinced my boss to spring for a new solution. I've
pretty much wittled down the choices to Suse Openexchange Server and
MS 2003 Server. The reason for those choices is we need MS Outlook
support. Otherwise, I'd just yank Oracle, and set up Red Hat.
Microsoft Server would be an easy fix. Our sales department requires
server-based CRM software (presently running quite well actually on a
little Win XP box). Using MS Server would allow me to correctly put
that on the server. Exchange is pretty much fire-and-forget. Active
Directory is no big deal. I know what Microsoft brings to the table.
Can anyone here offer any advice on Suse OpenExchange 4.1? It
promises Outlook connectivity and that is really the lone selling
point for me. I realize there are other Outlook connectivity
solutions out there, but for around the same price I'd pay in
licencing those, I could just buy a complete Suse OS. Plus, this job
isn't the one I'm going to retire from, so I really need something I
can easily pass on to my eventual replacement without having to
explain a bunch of kludges.
In short, I like MS because of the ease in making everything work
together. I like linux because I'm not hit with "worm of the week"
issues, and updates are more frequent (a lot more frequent). In my
experience, Linux is also more stable.
Any comments?
