firewire cdrom

I have a freestanding creative cdrom, model # ED2400, which i wish to
operate on a shuttle SK41G computer (amd xp1600+) via SB1394 firewire.
The operating system is a freshly updated Fedorqa Core 1. I have no idea
how to do it. Help or directions would be appreciated. Thanks.
