I feel kinda stupid here, but I have a fine-working xmms (under RH9
using the xmms-mp3 stuff) and it plays everything I throw at it and
all *except* when I switch my output from the arts-plugin to the
disk-writer plugin. When I do this, I get the little dialog box that
tells me
"can't open audio
Please check that
Your soundcard is configured properly
You have the correct output plugin selected
No other program is blocking the soundcard"
Now the first and last seem not to apply(?) since it doesn't need to
access (or see or have) a soundcard to write to disk. I made sure that
I do in fact have the disk-writer plugin
%%% locate libdisk_writer.so
/usr/lib/xmms/Output/libdisk_writer.so
and, well, I have no idea how to troubleshoot this. Anybody have an
idea? As soon as I switch back to the arts plugin I have fine music
with mp3/ogg/streaming sources without any problems...
Thanks in advance
cordially
Y.T.
