    it's obvious now; wish it had occurred to me to recommend that. I didn't
    think scsi although one of my systems is scsi-based.

    xmcd does ask a heap of questions. I set it up one machine and kind of
    like it though it's a bit gaudy (or 'feature-rich'). now that you know the
    mount-point for your cdrom, it shouldn't be hard to get xmcd running.
