cygwin startx problem

    I just installed the Cygwin under Windows xp.

    The problem is when I type xterm&, it response as can't open display.

    I search the web, the solution seems to start the x server first, then
    I type startx after start the cygwin. but it stucks in the middle:

     
    winInitMultiWindowWM - DISPLAY=127.0.0.1:0.0

    after it display the above message, it stucks for ever!

    I really don't know what's going on here, any help would be very
    appreciated.
