Answer to your questions (in order)
Yes
No need to make an emergency boot disk, you already have one(a CD version
that is). Boot with the first Fedora Core 2 CD or the DVD (if you have
one). At the menu screen type 'linux rescue' without the quotes, answer a
few questions, do the 'chroot /mnt/sysimage' bit (read the screens as they
appear) and then do something along the lines of; grub-install --recheck
/dev/hda
If for some reason you don't have a Fedora Core 2 CD or DVD just download
the FC2-i386-rescuecd.iso from;
http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/2/i386/iso/ or any
of the mirrors; http://fedora.redhat.com/download/mirrors.html
Burn to CD; http://www.linuxiso.org/viewdoc.php/howtoburn.html
