I've recently changed my OS from Red Hat Linux to Slackware. I've
managed to get everything up and running, except for one thing.

I'm trying to run an FTP server. Slackware comes with a copy of
ProFTPd. All is fine and good except for the fact that ProFTPd uses PAM
(which Slackware doesn't support) to authenticate its users.

According to the documentation, you can also use NIS as a method of
authentication. I've set up a NIS server on the network, but I can't
figure out how to configure the ftp daemon to connect to it. I've been
all over both the documentation and Google, with no success.

    Any ideas?
