"Could not get shadow information" msg from LogWatch

Hi.
We are running Fedora FC3 Linux, on a bunch of i686 machines. The kernel
is 2.6.10-1.766_FC3, or 2.6.10-1.766_FC3smp, as appropriate.
On exactly two of the machines, LogWatch reports
error: Could not get shadow information for bovik
for a bunch of users. AFAICT, these people *did* succesfully log in.
Note that we are not running shadow passwords, since we are using NIS.
Any idea why this is happening?
