... "what" commands? a tutorial might be okay, but since
a person might choose any number of window managers or desktops,
the tutorial would have to be all-inclusive in this respect.
the command line utilities are pretty much common across all
distros. what you probably want is a decent book, which
addresses Linux in general and has a generalized overview of
the two popular desktops: kde and gnome.
