Encore modems: Linux friendly

The modem I have currently, for my old windows OS, is an Encore, which
looked to me to be a winmodem- it worked great with windows, but not
with Linux.
Anyway, I contacted their website, www.encore-usa.com, and waa very
pleased to hear that they did have a driver for Linux. If you happend to
have one of these modems, they can help. Here's a snippet from the email
they sent back:
