Hi,

I searched but could not find documentation on usb.handmap. The file
seems simple enough but the existing entries are only for keyboard
("keybdev"), joysticks ("joydev"), etc. not for the type of device I
want to make work.

Can someone tell me what ("foodev") name to use in usb.handmap for
either a serial device or Palm?

I have a Zire 71 (this is not the same as the old Zire) see
http://www.palm.com/us/products/handhelds/zire71/details.html

The relevent messages during a hotsync attempt:

Jul 28 23:10:03 legba kernel: usb.c: USB device 5 (vend/prod
0x830/0x60) is not
claimed by any active driver.

Jul 28 23:10:07 legba usb.agent: ... no modules for USB product
830/60/100

Jul 28 23:12:19 legba kernel: usb.c: USB disconnect on device

Type of system:

$ uname -a
Linux legba 2.4.20-xfs #1 SMP Mit Mär 26 15:37:36 CET 2003 i686
GNU/Linux

$ cat /etc/debian_version
