RH9 Xserver copy paste problem ?

Hello

I did a fresh install of RH9 with Kde as desktop. Am not able to copy
by just highlighting the text by selecting with mouse, as is normally
done. using copy from menus( righclick in kconsole or from edit menu
of konqueror etc.. .) works fine. what may be wrong ??
