Networking, and everything else, is explained in RedHat's
"Customization guide", better than most of us can do it here.
The pictures in there help too.
You will find all RedHat specific manuals at
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/
Choose the "Customization guide" and see the networking chapter.
That is the authoritative documentation regarding RedHat.
