When you buy a CD/DVD, you are paying mostly for the DATA, not the physical
CD.
You do not copy the CD/DVD, you copy the DATA.
Some few years ago, it would have been impossible to copy the work of
an artist. The technology didn't exist.
Even for a book it took an incredible amount of work to copy it.
(With a printing press, making ONE copy is a lot of work.)
I guess all the people here won't mind at all when matter copiers are
available and cheap.
How do you make a living? Do you sell groceries? How would you like it if
someone bought one apple from you and turned it into a bushel of apples?
Or even just one? (This would cut your sales in HALF).
What is going on with the CD/DVD data copying is just plain theft.
Those who do it, do it because they can get away with it.
If they could copy cars and food, they would.
And this civilization would go down in flames.
Want to know why a lot of super-technology never reaches the market?
Because of people like these.
