Are you behind a NAT server, or , say using a cable modem using PPPOE?
Running behind someone else's firewall that might be blocking identd? I
certainly block it on firewalls that I run, to prevent weasels from
using insecure machines that might get broken *behind* my firewalls to
ue IRC servers without my knowledge.
