Hello everybody,

PC configuration : P-IV 2GHz e-machine + CD/DVD-Rom player + Graphic
Card GeForce4 + HD 80 Go + 512 MO Ram.

There are 2 CD-ROM. I boot on the first installation CD, I get all of
the setup process instruction and inquiries. Linux is installed
without windows (ie on a formatted HD). I choose the automatic
partition, design a root user and a normal user. Every hardware
components are correctly detected and indexed. Concerning the
installation process everything seems to work perfectly.

Note : the installation programm for MDke 9.1 doesn't allow to test
the graphical configuration but for MDke 9.2 it does (I've tested both
of them). When I test under MDke 9.2 with the option 'GeForce4' I can
read the message and see all the colors.

The interface ask for a reboot, I skip the CD-ROM from the CD-player
then reboot. On reboot I've tested different situations :

1) when I choose to put the boot configuration on a floppy disk, I get
the usual starting procedure (lines with 'OK'in green), the system
boot correctly on the floppy disk, and then after some checkings
a dark screen ... and nothing.

2) when I choose to put the boot configuration on the first sector of
the hard drive (in the main partition), the system boot, try to read
from the CD player, doesn't read (it's empty), try to boot from the
floppy disk, doesn't work. I get on the screen the following message :
'99 99 99 (eight lines)' and then 'DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM
DISK AND PRESS ENTER'.

So the installation fails, I'm a newbie ... If soemeone could help ...

Thanks in advance for any information

Herve
