Access forbidden on User webpages

Hi,
I've set up my Apache (2.0) on a RH9 box but when I try to connect to a
user site http://www.kejpa.com/~MyUserID/
I get a forbidden message, of course something with access rights in
that directory. How do I set the correct access rights? Currently I'm
using 755.

Another issue is that when I try to access a subdirectory like
http://www.kejpa.com/subdir I get a message that I get "Page Not Found"
I would like to open up the default page (index.html). How's that managed?
