could it be a bug? mounting problem, not setting user permissions with umask=000

Hey there im trying to mount a hd with rwx access to all.

the only thing is that mount -t vfat -o umask=000 /dev/hdc1 /mnt/hdc1
doesn't seem to do the trick.

now i know it has been working some time ago. so anybody know whats wrong?
