Mouse problems

I've installed the woody release of debian on my laptop and it seems
to be working fine. The only problem is that I can't get my external
mouse to work in X Windows. The mouse of my laptop works fine but I
can't figure out how to get the other one to work. Any ideas? (It's
a microsoft optical USB mouse)

Thanks!

-Mike
