Add vim icon to KDE panel

I installed the vim editor to Fedora Core 1.
How to add the vim icon to the KDE panel at the bottom of the screen?
I tried to add the vim program icons and menus by right-clicking an
empty area of the panel and mousing to Add -> Button -> program or
menu.
However, I do not see the vim program icons under the "Programming"
menu or anywhere so I cannot continue.
