I heard that alsa, since version 1.00 or so, had problem with redhat 9, but
that there was a workaround.
I'm getting a similar problem installing alsa 1.02 or 1.03rc2 on a mandrake
9.2 system. I'm just compiling three sound drivers and one of those gets
unresolved symbol errors. When I had tried letting alsa do a full install,
about 12 of the sound modules had unresolved symbol errors.
# depmod -ae
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in
/lib/modules/2.4.22-26mm.2mdkcustom/kernel/sound/isa/snd-azt2320.o

depmod: pnp_release_card_device_Rb5e2cc19
depmod: pnp_unregister_card_driver_R2b5d19d4
Is there some kernel module that I need to install or compile in?
