Never happened to me except for md 10 and I know it is only a Stable
Cooker version and is quite prone to having problems because it is still
being tested by the developers. Looking at your rant, you should not
be playing with it.
I download anywnere from 25 to 76 package updates a day for Mandrake 10
Community.

You realy need to wait for Mandrake Official release.

Lets talk MD 9.2
You must have some problem with hardware.
I check for 9.2 updates just about eveyday and have install all updates.
My firewall 9.2 install date
ls -al /etc/mandrake-release
Sep 17 2003 /etc/mandrake-release
Only problems I have had are caused by power outages.
Sounds like a heat problem.
Maybe it is because the cpu heatsink is full of dust, and/or the power
supply is full of dust. Maybe the capacitors are starting to go bad.
Have you tried running memtest86 for awhile.
Maybe the disk drive is overheating once in awhile.
Can we assume you have answered Y to the repair question just before
the Enter I for interactive message during boot? I had to do it twice
after one power outage before it quit asking the question.
I have yet to see anyone in alt.os.linux.mandrake with your problems
for production releases of Mandrake.
