Take a look at tomsrtbt. And entire network capable Linux on a floppy. Recompile the kernel
leaving out anything that isn't necessary for bare-bones functioning, and strip off most of
the device files and libraries and all the utilities and apps and you are there...
Maybe 500K or less.
