Hi:

I expect to find help here :-) I installed Debian last week in this
old laptop their specs are

Intel Pentium MMX 166 Mhz
Ram 80 MBS
Hardware to connect to a lan or to a phone line a PCMCIA card Xircom
CEM56-100
Sound Hardaware I know I need to put this one on linux cs4232

My problem is that debian is running pretty fine. But I don't have
sound, and I cant connect.

First of all debian haven't recognized my sound card, I instales
sndconf but I can't use it in Woody realeas, I don't know why it ask
me this because of the kernel, tell me that need a kernel up to
version 2, and woody have it :-(

Any one can help me to first of all to install the sound card, and
then make it available for use?

I added this in the modules.conf file but it didn't worked and mark me
error

alias sound-slot-0 cs4232
options sound dmabuf=1
alias synth0 op13
option op13 io=0x388
options cs4232 io=0x534 irq=5 dma=1 dma2=0 mpuio=0x330 mpruirq=9

I found a site that argued that it would help, but still nothing.

My second problem is that I have used Redhat before and I never had
problems to connect, it's pretty simple, but with debian I can't do
it?

Any one know how I can set up my pcmcia card to be detected by debian,
and then how I connect with this device by modem :-( The pcmcia slots
have been detected but not the card, and I don't know how to do it?

Thanks to any one that reads this post and more if you can help me
would be grate I have been trying to do setup this the entire week and
I have not acomplished the task.
