First, under the Tools menu, you need to go into both the "News Servers"
and "Posting Profiles" menu options, and make sure that the information on
your Usenet News server, and your personal info, like what you're going to
call yourself in Usenet, and what email address you're going to declare,
are set correctly.

As far as I can tell, the Task Manager is only for displaying internal
functions of the news reader.

In the default configuration of your version of PAN, on the left side of
the screen, under the panel for news groups, there is a button called
Subscribed. If you click on that list, you can select the folders option.
The default configuration will have folders for messages which have been
successfully sent, and the messages you've saved for sending later. When
you have a valid connection to a newsserver, you can use the menu item
called Post, and the bottom entry there is "Send Pending Messages" If
there are messages in the folder for later sending, they will now be sent.

If you use more than one newsserver, you can select between them from the
"Servers" menu item.

Needless to say, whichever server you've configured to use, you must have
posting rights on that server. It appears you're using BlueYonder, and
you obviously have posting rights on the newsserver you used to post this
request for assistance.

You can set Pan to work offline, whereby when you connect, it will
retrieve messages, headers, and even the bodies of posts, so that when you
disconnect, they are in the program, and you can then read, and reply to
them at your leisure, and later, connect and post your replies. I don't
use those functions, as I have a permanent connection, but I know those
functions are incorporated. Perhaps others can elaborate on their
functioning.

Try those things, and repost again if necessary.

Cheers,

Valentin
