Get into terminal mode. Alt-ctl-F2 for example. Try logging in from
there.
If that does not work, on bootup at the LILO prompt, do
linux 1
(assuming your system you want to boot into is called linux. If not use
its name-- listed in the list lilo displays while booting up).
Then set root's password.
passwd
or your password
passwd <yourusename>
and then do exit to boot up to the usual boot screen and try again.
