It was not an ordeal prior to Sol9. I am sure we could probably find some
problems trying to do stuff the otherway around to put linux onto sparc.

Linux is not the be all and end all, if it was you would find a greater
take up in industry.

Don't forget at Sol9 Sun execs had killed x86 so it should never have been
an issue, then they saw the light.

Darren has suggested the DVD, can you get a copy as this will get around
the issue/

Yes, Sun does care, no Solaris is not a dying breed. When you see what is
available with Solaris 10 , never mind what it has before then, you will
get the picture. Start playing with dtrace.

Sun and Solaris will be around for a goot while yet, when you find need
for multiway systems that scale , it fits the bill. Want 64 bit.. Sun has
it. Want it on x86 ? Who has the most mature 64 bit , running *now* and is
making the neccesary tweaks to launch on the opteron ?
