With SUSE 9.0 (9.0 NOT 9.1) things actually got better
with regard to KVM switching. Normally, whenever I switch
from machine to machine (all running X), I would have
to do a Ctrl-Alt-F1-Alt-F7 to cycle from X to console and
back to X in order to get my mouse to work fully (inluding
both up and down on the wheel). With SUSE 9.0, the wheel
would even work without going through the sequence... but
    ONLY in the down direction.

With SUSE 9.1, the mouse goes crazy and the old Ctr-Alt-..etc..
technique doesn't help. Stopping and restarting X DOESN'T
WORK either! I have to REBOOT in order to get rid of the
crazy mouse problem (the problem where the mouse just jump
all over the screen with mouse button 1 randomly pressed).

I don't know if it's particular to 2.6, but I think it must
    be.

Anyone else see this problem and have a workaround (aside
    from rebooting!).

I'm using a cheap 4 port Belkin switch. If you have a
KVM switch recommendation that shows NO problems, let
    me know.
