Laptop won't shut down automatically

Hi,
I fresh installed Mandrake 1behaviorh all updates) on a laptop (Compaq Evo
N600c).Whenever I shut down Mandrake ends in a terminal asking me to power
down (which I do by a long press on the power button).
This is a dual boot laptop, and, under Win 2000 Pro (no BIOS modifications)
the laptops powers down automatically.
Any idea how can I get the same behaviour in Mandrake?
