Hi!
Recently got a new printer, Epson RX600 (all-in-one
scanner/printer/card reader/etc USB2).
After some initial problems with usb(2) in kernel 2.6.7, applied
bk15 patch and things went smooth.;)
Updated/installed the following (just for completeness, if anyone
getting this printer searching the archives, as it's pretty new)
cups-1.1.21rc1
gimp-print-5.0.0-beta1
mtink-1.0.2
pips-sprx600_610-cups-2.6.2-1 -> http://www.epkowa.co.jp/
iscan-1.9.0-5 -> http://www.epkowa.co.jp/english/index_e.html
(Both directly from Epson rpm and source available iscan installs
a gimp plug-in in addition)
One of the remaining problems are the hotplug scripts on my box,
that don't handle 'libusb' devices, probably as they are kernel
2.4.
After turning off/on the printers libusb "device" is counted
up, requiring to edit /etc/sane.d/epkowa.conf and changing perms
on /proc/bus/usb/003/<new assigned number>, in order to be able
to use the device as user.
So it looks like I need hotplug scripts that work with kernel
2.6. I'd like to hear your experience.
