What you want to acomplish is to create an unformated/unknown/free
partition on your disk.

You can wipe your drive and re-install leaving the free space. :(

You can try using your current operating system's tools.

You can buy a commercial product like Partition Magic. You defrag
your system first, then use PM to shrink a partition to create the free space.

For the cost of PM you could buy another drive.

You can find a partitioning tool for download.
