???? How did you run it "two different ways"?
Why did you want to use the Win boot menu? lilo will handle this fine.
You cannot get rid of lilo (except by using grub) since something must know
how to unpack the kernel and start running it.
lilo -b /dev/hda2
should do it.
lilo -b /dev/hda will put it into the boot loader, and it will be lilo
which comes up when you boot the computer, not the Win boot loader.
What is your lilo.conf file?
