Setting up Samsung laser printer

    I bought a Samsung ML-1740, and Samsung was nice enough
    to include a CD with a Linux install script. Unfortunately
    it doesn't work. I'm running Debian Sarge, using KDE 3.2.
    The script brings up a dialog that prompts for the root
    pword, then does disk access for a minute or two, then shows
    no further signs of life. It's supposed to bring up a graphical
    wizard.

    I looked through the CD and couldn't find any standalone file
    that looked like a driver; I think the binary executable is
    supposed to create it on the fly. That would make manual
    installation difficult even if I knew how, which I don't.

    Can anyone help?
