My Fedora Core 1 box is going into some sort of standby mode after a
few minutes of inactivity. It appears, from the system logs, that the
network card is being shut down until some activity starts it back up.
I've seen this happen when connected to the machine with via VNC and
also while pulling data from the machine so it's not triggered by
network inactivity. So far, my only solution has been to leave a
stapler on the keyboard. Yes, a stapler.
