not at ALL sure how to proceed; hour ago I managed to 'dualboot' install
mandrake 10 without entering a username and password when the CD's asked
I do, to login to the computer later....
so now MDK 10 boots (or more correctly -tries- to boot) into KDE
desktop, but LILO booter _insists_ I enter a username and password (but
I never entered any during the CD install (left those boxes all blank),
which seemingly went 'peachy keen' with the installer =without= my
entering them. note that clicking in the lilo username and PW boxes (but
entering nothing in them) does -not- result in making any button
available that I could -now- press to make it boot; the sole options are
reboot and 'halt' (which I pretty much already am, if you get my drift).
or, I could boot into the following 'totally unknown worlds':
gnome
icewm
default (whatever THAT might be)
failsafe (ditto)
where I might again (ALSO) need to enter that stuff???
by the way, I've tried logging in/booting into MDK in various combo's
with caps lock/numlock on and off, all to no avail....
so am I gonna have to somehow 'hack into' linux to boot the very 1st
time? I'm a 'day one' linux user guys; be gentle with me...
on a sidenote: while partitioning w/diskdrake, somewhere it said I was
going to have the option to copy my partitions info to a floppy, but no
'stick in a floppy now to do that' window, or button, ever appeared (or
I would've done it)
thanks for tips and ideas on how I can boot, if I get lucky :-\
