Hello guys,
I'm running in my laptop RH 9 and kernel 2.4.20-33.9.
I've recompiled the kernel in order to add loadable on demand modules to
support firewire card.
It used to work greatly in the same machine with RH 8 (so it should be not
an HW problem).
But now when I try to load the module ohci1394 or dv1394 I get errors and I
don't know how to deal with them.
# /sbin/modprobe ohci1394
/lib/modules/2.4.20-33.9.Linoxcustom/kernel/drivers/ieee1394/ohci1394.o:
init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including
invalid IO or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.20-33.9.Linoxcustom/kernel/drivers/ieee1394/ohci1394.o:
insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.20-33.9.Linoxcustom/kernel/drivers/ieee1394/ohci1394.o
failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20-33.9.Linoxcustom/kernel/drivers/ieee1394/ohci1394.o:
insmod ohci1394 failed
What does this all mean?
any idea?
thank you for your help!
