Alt + Gr not working with lv3:ralt_switch

I am using slackware 10 with xorg and in the Section InputDevice in
xorg.conf I have set these option

Option "XkbLayout" "sv"
Option "XkbOptions" "lv3:ralt_switch"

The last line is to get the alt gr functionality to work on my right alt
button so I can access the @ £ ? $| symbols but it doesnt work at all. There
is no change in output from when I use the alt gr button to when I am not :(

The funny thing tho is that it works pervectly when I am not in X even if I
am using the same keyboard layout. sv-latin1

Anyone know why?
