Hi,
Pretty new to linux here. I'm running Debian unstable with an SB Live
sound card. By following the instructions at
http://www.getlinuxonline.com/article.php?story=20030327083035125 I was
able to get the card up and running. I also have been able to listen to
my old LPs by plugging the record player into the Line-in of the card.
Now I want to record some of these records into .wav files, using
gramofile. But I'm only able to get empty .wav files. After launching
gramofile, I go into the mixer settings (xmixer) and choose 'Line-in' as
the recording source. I noticed that the "Rec" knob is greyed out.
I've unmuted every input using alsamixer, still no dice. Any suggestions
about what I might be missing?
Thanks,
Jim
