Might be better to use Kannotix it is a live cd Debian-Knoppix fork
designed expressly for installing on hd, although Knoppix installs very
nicely to hd it leaves you with a lot of work to make it a tidy Debian
installaion.
Kannotix is easier to maintain has a good support forum and runs very nicely
from hd.
