I wrote from the Debian perspective, as I am more familiar with their release,
as their maintainers stay in e-mail contact with me. The Koppix point-of-view
should work correspondingly well. I would make the choice based upon which
distro provides the more recent version of LILO (Debian is up to 22.5.9 with
their latest update; Koppix I don't know about; 22.6 is the current release,
which includes a couple of updates suggested by the folks at Debian).

The binary file /sbin/lilo should be completely interchangeable between the
two distros (subject to the version of glibc with which it is linked.)
