What's "nautilus"? (you have a dictionary?). Isn't that a gnomish file
manager? You realize that you are not root in it?

Then give yourself permission. What's your problem?

You are doing nothing wrong. You do not need help. All is as it should
be and as you stated it should be, I think. If you want to give
ordinary users permission to graze through your msdos partition, then
you will have to add appropriate options to the mount call! Man mount.
Look for gid= or uid= or umask=.

So what's the problem? You said that you don't have permission to go
there, so why not give yurself the permission? You are root, no? Root
can do anything.

Ah, but there's the rub - does he KNOW how to do everything?

Apparently not. Nor where to look. Nor how to think about where to
look.
